What is Prostate Cancer ?

Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer found in men and develops slowly in time in the prostate gland (WebMD).


The cause of prostate cancer is unknown.

Population affected:

  • -men
  • -More common in older men around the age of 65>
  • -family history with BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation
  • obesity

Symptoms :

  • trouble urinating
  • decrease force in the stream of urine
  • blood in the semen
  • blood in the urine
  • pain in the lower back,hips and thigh
  • discomfort in the pelvic area
  • bone pain

Treatment :

  • Radioactive therapy
  • Horomone therapy
  • Surgery to remove the prostate
  • Freezing the Prostate tissue
  • Heating the Prostate tissue with ultasound
  • Chemotherapy
  • Immunotherapy

Prognosis :

  • 1 of 37 die from prostate cancer
  • According to the American Cancer Society, 92% of the men survive at least 5 years.
  • 91% of men survive at least 10 years


- The Prostate cancer could metastasis and travel near the bladder, bloodstream and lymphatic system.
