Grade Level Totals:

1st Grade: 1250

2nd Grade: 1000

3rd Grade: 500

PJ/Furry Friend Day

Friday, January 18th students and staff can wear their favorite pj's and bring a furry friend as a reward for earning 4000 Golden Tickets. PJs must still follow the LVISD Dress Code, and tennis shoes need to be brought, so students are safe in PE and recess. Furry friends must fit in backpacks, so any furry friends that are bigger than backpacks must stay at home that day.

District UIL Hospitality Room

The District UIL Meet is coming up on Friday, January 25, 2019. LVES will be hosting this year's meet. Friday, January 25th will be an early release at 11:30 am (no afternoon PPCD) so that the UIL events can get started. As the host campus, we will be providing food for the Hospitality Room for coaches and teachers from all schools attending the meet. There will be 6 schools (including LVES), so we are expecting 100-150 coaches and staff. We need help stocking the Hospitality Room. LVES/LVIS will provide the main dish (BBQ), but we need sides, drinks, desserts, appetizers, etc.

If you would like to help stock the Hospitality Room, please click on the link below to sign up:

Thank you so much for your help in stocking the Hospitality Room for our meet! This is a very busy day for all staff:-)

Handicap Parking Reminder

Just a friendly reminder...we have 4 designated handicap parking spots in the front parking lot. If you do not have the appropriate, legal placard or license plates to park in one of these spots, then you may not park there. We have staff, parents and visitors that need these parking spots, and the last few mornings during drop off they have been taken by cars without the appropriate placard or license plates.

Don't forget that we have 2 morning drop-off locations in the back to help ease the limited parking in the front.

Thank you for help!

Internet Safety Presentation - January 15th

Join LVES PTO and Victoria Walker for a free presentation on internet safety on January 15th at 6 pm in the LVES cafeteria. The focus will be on content, context and the needs of each child. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, children may not attend this presentation.

This night is not just for elementary parents, so spread the word and encourage parents with children of all ages to attend this very informative presentation.

We hope to see you there!

Yearbook Needs Pictures

Do you have pictures of the Fall Festival, Thanksgiving Lunch, Pumpkin Gallery Walk, Pep Rallies or Running of the Vikings, Red Ribbon Week, etc? If you do, please email them to, as we would like to fill the pages with all of the different events we have at LVES.

Dressing for Recess

Our students go to recess everyday, weather permitting, and winter weather is here. Please help us by dressing your child in warm clothing and jackets for the colder weather.

Lost and Found

Cold weather is here, and we have a lot of jackets (among other items) in the Lost and Found. If your child is missing his/her jacket, or lunchbox, please have them stop by the Lost and Found bin located in the corner of the cafeteria. Please make sure you label jackets, lunchboxes, and backpacks with your child's name so we can reunite lost items with their owners.

Thank you to following Watch DOGs for being on campus and being an extra set of eyes!

  • January 15th: Joele Porter

Character Trait of The Month...

January's Character Trait of The Month is Citizenship. Here are few ways we can show Citizenship...

  • Do your share to make your school and community better;
  • Cooperate;
  • Get involved in your community;
  • Stay informed; vote;
  • Be a good neighbor;
  • Obey laws and rules;
  • Respect authority;
  • Protect the environment;
  • Volunteer.

Students will learn more about this month's character trait in weekly Guidance lessons.

Counselor's Corner

Hello LVES Families and Happy New Year! In our counselor guidance classes this month, students will be learning about the character trait of Citizenship. I will be teaching what it means to be a good citizen--a person who obeys rules and laws, and does their share to help make their home, community, and world a better place for everyone. Students will also learn about having good Digital Citizenship, which means being safe and kind when online or using technology.

I hope you are all staying warm, and remember you can contact me if your child needs a coat for winter--I will be happy to get one from the Lago Vista Clothing Closet at our Intermediate School campus. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at, or call (512) 267-8300 ext. 4504. Thank you very much!

Good citizenship comes when we understand that all people are important.” ~Anonymous
