Week 9 - September 11th, 2023
Message from the Principal
Good morning Spartans!
I hope this email finds you well.
Today, we remember the 22nd anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. We join our nation in paying tribute to the victims, their families, and the first responders who risked their lives to save others. This is a day to reflect on the resilience of our country and the importance of freedom and democracy.
I am proud to be the principal of Chula Vista High School, a school that has always stood for those values. We are a community of learners, leaders, artists and athletes who are committed to making a difference in the world.
This week, we have a number of exciting events happening.
- On Friday, we will be holding our Fall Sports Assembly. This is a chance to celebrate the accomplishments of our student-athletes and coaches. .
- This week is also Disney Movie Spirit Week! This is a chance for students to pay tribute to some of their favorite Disney movies.
- I am also excited to announce that our flag football team made history last week by winning their first ever CIF flag football game. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our coaches and players. Congratulations!
I am so proud of all that our Spartans are doing. Thank you for making Chula Vista High School a great place to learn, grow, and succeed.
Go Spartans!
Sincerely,
Julio Alcala

Come experience the brilliance and wit of Oscar Wilde through these adaptations of his short stories, "The Happy Prince" and "The Selfish Giant" and his comedic play, "The Importance of Being Earnest". Created in collaboration with the San Diego Guild of Puppetry and directed by Sharon Maley and Zowie Rico, a graduate of CVSCPA, these stories of sacrifice and friendship will make you laugh and cry!

Student Drop-Off and Gate Locations
Gates will be open for students to enter campus at 8:00am. We will have four entry points with designated drop off areas for students. Those are marked on the map with a blue arrow:
#1 North 100, drop off point is the driveway in the front of the 100 building.
#2 South 100, drop off point is the parking lot in front of the GYM.
#3 Youth Center, drop off point is the Youth Center parking lot on L street (before school program)
#4 K Street Gate, drop off point is on K street.
These areas will also serve as pick up points for students after school. For the safety of all, please make sure you observe all traffic patterns and rules. Also please note, supervision on campus will begin at 8:00am when the main campus gates are open. If you need to drop off your student earlier, please drop them off on gate 3, our Youth Center entrance starting at 7:15am. Here, we will provide a safe, supervised place through our before/after school program for your student to wait for the main campus to open.
