never compromise health for beauty

Beautycounter is on a mission to get safe products into the hands of everyone ... And so am I

I wanted to share with you something new and exciting in my life. I think most of you are aware that I'm a huge fan of safety. I've obviously been working with car seat safety for several years now. When Dan and I knew we were ready to start a family, I got caught up in a new world of safety - safety in personal care products. While searching for products to use both in our home and on Davey, I began to realize that there were many components in the products we currently used that were not so great for our health. Products that disrupted hormones, had been linked to cancer, caused reproductive issues, and were known allergens.

The United States has banned or restricted 11 of these ingredients from being used in personal care products. In Europe, almost 1,400 ingredients have been banned.

In my quest for safe and effective products, I came across a wonderful company called Beautycounter. Beautycounter believes that products can be safe, effective, and high performing. They have created a Never List - a list of over 1,500 ingredients that will never be used in any of their products.

I have been using Beautycounter products for about a year now. In that year, I have completely cleared up Davey's eczema without the use of prescription medications or creams, reduced the number of products we need to use on a daily basis, and drastically reduced the number of chemicals we have in our house.

I have joined the Beautycounter movement as a consultant, because I want to share the information that I've learned this past year. Beautycounter is about the information first, the products second, and I love being a part of their movement.

Please let me know if you have any questions about personal care products, Beautycounter, or product safety! I would love to help!

Our skin is our largest organ ... It absorbs 5 pounds of personal care products every year!

The average woman uses 12 beauty products every morning, adding up to hundreds of chemicals everyday.

1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer in the U.S.

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States; A rate that has more than doubled since the 1960's.
