Education
The Start of Equality
By providing the same educational opportunities to boys and girls the girls will grow up into empowered women- unafraid to fight for their equality. With proper education women learn how to better manage the health of their children and themselves. Women will also learn about birth control, and that creating a family is not the only option for a future.
Teachers
"Countries with more female primary teachers are more likely to have higher enrollment rates for girls in secondary schools. Unfortunately, in some countries, less than 25% of primary teachers are female. (UNESCO eAtlas of Teachers)"
Paid maternity leave and equal pay will encourage more women to attend teacher training. Educating girls will lead to the education for teacher training and there will be a chain reaction.
Prevent Violence
It is important that girls feel safe and comfortable in an educational environment. We need to eliminate violence and discrimination against girls in schools and enforce all legislation against it.

Equal Opportunity
There are many reasons girls do not attend school in developing countries: school fees may be too high for families to send both their girls and their boys to school so the girls are overlooked. In other cases there are not bathroom facilities for women. Girls may also be expected to work in the home and may even have their own family to take care of before they finish school
How Can You Help?
Donate: Donating to programs, such as UNICEF, will help them to make a difference and encourage girls' education around the world.
Spend time: If you are a teacher, find an organization that will set you up to go train teachers in a developing country.
Spread the word: Let people know about this issue, and encourage them to do something about it!
