BHS Blended Day - Wednesday, September 23, 2020

Due to the abrupt disruption of the 2019-2020 spring semester, caused by pandemic, we were unable to administer the SAT to the class of 2021 on the date originally scheduled. In order to facilitate testing for the Class of 2021, Wednesday, September 23, 2020 will be a blended day for all BHS students. Teachers will prepare blended activities for the students to complete at their own pace.

We will be holding Virtual Assemblies (by class) on Wednesday, September 23rd. This will provide us with an opportunity to share specific details on the following topics:

  • Student Handbook Highlights and Acknowledgement
  • Technology User Agreement
  • Accessing Support (Virtual ARC)
  • Reviewing process to see Attendance & Grades
  • Student Activities Update

Links and times for each class are as follows:

Freshman Class Virtual Assembly : 11:30AM

Sophomore Class Virtual Assembly: 12:30PM

Junior Class Virtual Assembly: 1:30PM

Senior Class Virtual Assembly: 2:30PM

We are utilizing the authentic user feature in Zoom, therefore only BHS students can attend the virtual assemblies. We look forward to seeing you at the Virtual Assembly on Wednesday, September 23rd!

VIRTUAL ACADEMIC RESOURCE CENTER

Beginning Monday, September 21, 2020, students will be able to get additional academic support by utilizing our virtual academic resource center (VARC). Upon entering the VRAC, students will be asked what kind of support they are looking for, and then will be placed in the appropriate academic support led by our BHS teachers. More information on the VARC will be communicated to students during the virtual assemblies on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.

Students can access the VARC here. We are using the authentic user feature in Zoom, therefore only BHS students can attend the VRAC.

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS SCREENING APP

In an effort to promote a safe and healthy environment in our buildings, Barrington 220 will be implementing a web app to allow families and staff to quickly and easily report current COVID-19 symptoms. A web app is a website that functions like an app, but does not require a download from an App Store. This reporting is required by our local health departments until further notice.

To access our COVID-19 Symptom Screening web app:

1. Visit health.barrington220.org on any device.

2. Each morning that your student is coming to school, parents need to SIGN IN using your Infinite Campus username and password.

3. Select the student you are completing the screening for.

4. Respond to the survey

5. Tap CONFIRM for each survey to report the results.

The system will confirm each check-in and respond whether or not it is safe to come to school for the day.
