Parklane Eagles Soar
Welcome Back to School Parents and Students
Welcome Back to School Parklane Eagles
Greetings Parklane Eagles Family,
It is hard to believe that in just one week, students will be returning to school. The summer has gone by quickly, as it always does! I am both humbled and excited to begin my first year as your principal. This school year our staff is committed to "planting seeds of success" for our students.
Over the summer several renovations took place at Parklane in preparation for what is sure to be an incredible school year. A new drainage system was installed, our media center was upgraded, there were changes to some of the restrooms, and many of our walls received a fresh coat of paint. Due to these renovations, I was not able to host many events for parents this summer, so be on the look out for invitations throughout the year for the many parent engagement opportunities that will take place. I can't wait to meet each of you!
Our school uses Class Dojo to communicate with parents. Be sure to sign up for your student's Class Dojo account to remain aware of all of the wonderful things we have happening at Parklane. Visit our website regularly for information about our school as well http://school.fultonschools.org/es/parklane/Pages/default.aspx.
Our theme this year is "What Seeds Are You Planting"? Our goal is to plant seeds of HOPE, COURAGE, INSPIRATION, and SUCCESS! Our focus for students this year is a culture of academic excellence rooted in systems designed for success. We will be working this year on enagaging, high quality classroom instruction and full implementation of the S.O.A.R. Positive Behavior Intervention and Support program schoolwide.
I hope the summer has been a great one for each of our students. I am counting down the days until the building is filled with smiling faces eager to learn! I look forward to seeing how much our students have grown and welcome all our new friends. I know the end of summer always comes with mixed emotions, but I hope that all our Eagles are ready for a great year!
In Partnership,
Marissa Wilson

Volunteering at Parklane
Parents are encouraged to be active members of the Parklane community. Many volunteer opportunities are available in our school. Fulton County policy requires all prospective volunteers to register using the new 2018- 2019 automated volunteer process.
Volunteers may now register on the district webpage www.fultonschools.org. Click on "Community" and "Partners and Volunteers". The new portal will allow for a one-time registration as volunteers may select more than one school during the process. Individual campus registration is no longer required as volunteers will now be approved centrally.
ALL PARENTS/VOLUNTEERS WILL NEED TO REGISTER AGAIN THIS YEAR, EVEN IF YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE PROCESS IN THE PAST!
PTO at Parklane
PTO is a great way of supporting and being an active part of our school community. We will be electing new PTO officers this year. Your voice is important, as is your service to our school. Visit the PTO table during open house for more information.
