NWEA Testing

Over the next three weeks we will be condcting NWEA testing in all grades. Students will need their charged chromebook. In addition, if your child has plug-in headphones at home, it would be helpful to send those in with your student for testing. This prevents having to share among students.

Student tardies

LMS families, we all know how critical it is to be present at school. We've added a 7:55 reminder bell, with a tardy bell ringing at 8:00 am (This does not apply to students who arrive on a late bus) Students need to be to class on time. Please talk with your student and remind them. The tardy policy is outlined in our student handbook.

News from Transportation

Effective November 28th, no student will be admitted on the bus in the morning from home or in the afternoon from the school without one of the following ways to scan onto the bus:

1) ID badge (Either school or transportation badge, both work)

2) "Here comes the bus" phone application loaded to the screen with the bar code

3) A printed out bar code off the same application

4) One time grace to give name and be manually loaded on the bus

The transportation department will print out new badges as needed. There will be a $5 charge for the 3rd card printed and each subsequent printing.

Thank you all for your cooperation as we move to full implementation of the ridership program.

Attention 7th graders intersted in Washington DC trip! Meeting this week!

The deadline for the trip has been extended to Feb. 13. Students who apply during this time frame will be placed on a waiting list as spots become available.

Allergens

Students and Staff at LMS,

We have people in our building with very serious allergies. When people are exposed to things they are allergic to, it can cause serious breathing issues, and could ultimately lead to people not being able to breathe, and pass away as a result. We’d like your help. Please do not bring spray fragrances to school. Examples would be spray perfume, body spray, spray deodorant, etc. This is an issue of life and death for some people in our building.

Also, we have people who have tree nut allergies, such as peanuts, sesame seeds, etc. in the building. This is also an issue of life or death for some. We are asking that you do not bring tree nut products into the building.

We appreciate your support in keeping members of our community safe.

Be well

Parent drop off Arrival and Departure

  • Parent drop off is at the north end of the building in the parking lot by the tennis courts.
  • PLEASE PULL FORWARD AND DO NOT STOP DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DOOR. Doing so stops traffic and creates issues.
  • Students can enter the north doors at 7:35 am.
  • Students from the busses can enter the building at 7:45 am
  • Students are expected to be picked up no later than 15 minutes after school is dismissed.

  • If a student plans to attend a sporting event after school, they need to leave and return with their guardian for the event. Students are required to have an adult present with them at all times.

THE DOOR AT PARENT DROP OFF CLOSES AT 8:00 AM. If arriving after that time, please drop off at the front doors. No need to accompany your student, they are able to sign themselves in.

Student Code of Conduct

On the first day, your student will receive an agenda planner that they will need to keep with them at all times at LMS. It contains valuable information that your student is responsible for knowing. Please review the Acceptable Use Policy for technology. Our dress code is clearly outlined in our agenda along with our cell phone policy... Cell phones must be turned off and put in their lockers. Cell phones are a huge disruption to the goal of educating your children.

Items from home

LMS families,

Please leave items such as skateboards, basketballs, footballs, etc at home. We have students who do not use those items appropriately.

Also, energy drinks or items in glass bottles are not allowed.
