EHS Virtual Open House
Welcome to this year’s EHS Virtual Open House! Hornet educators look forward to meeting our EHS families each year, and we know that the Open House is a valued time in our school year. Our faculty and staff produced a virtual open house to introduce themselves, answer questions, and provide a glimpse into each department working with your student. We hope you enjoy “meeting” everyone!

Pocky Day
The EHS Japanese Club (A.K.A. the Vermont Tottori Youth Exchange Committee) participated in a virtual exchange with Torisho School of Commerce (located in Tottori, Japan). EHS students learned that Japan’s National Pocky Day was November 11th because the number 11 looks like two pocky sticks. Students from both schools celebrated Pocky Day by taking pictures holding Pocky.
The next exchange with Torisho will be on December 10th. We are also starting a virtual exchange with Yonago Nishi High School on December 17th. Anybody interested in participating can contact Adowyn Byrne (abyrne@vt.ewsd.org), Kaito Esselstorm (kesselstrom@vt.ewsd.org), or Yukari sensei (ymuramoto@ewsd.org).
Toys for Kids
There is a Toys for Kids donation barrel in the Main Lobby. Coordinated by the Marine Corps League’s Donald Cook Detachment, Toys for Kids (100% volunteer, non-profit program) is the largest Christmas toy collection program in Vermont for kids in need. Please consider donating any new, unwrapped toys!

Food Drive Update
On Fri., 11/19, 11th and 12th grade National Honor Society students assembled +20 boxes filled with your generous Thanksgiving food drive donations. In addition to supporting the families in our community, your donations filled three local little pantries, provided 10 boxes of canned goods to HANDS, a Burlington non-profit providing Christmas dinners to senior citizens, and several boxes to Feeding Chittenden. Thank you EHS for another successful and heartwarming Thanksgiving food drive. Your donations were truly above and beyond, and we are so appreciative of your generosity and support!
We are excited to announce that this year’s EHS Thanksgiving Food Drive winner, with 147 items collected, is...Ms. Ritchie and Ms. Edwards’ advisories! Congratulations!
