Field Day!
Our first graders had a blast during their field day on Tuesday. Mrs. Mattson and Mr. Born created fun and engaging stations for all of the students to enjoy!
Unfortunately, we postponed our second grade field day to next Wednesday due to the inclement weather. Check out the pictures for first grade!

In 5th grade
In conjunction with our Civil War unit, 5th Graders had the opportunity to learn about Camp Kane in St. Charles. Students learned what life was like for the 8th Illinois Cavalry soldiers who lived and trained in what is now Langum Park during 1861 and learned what happened to them after they left Camp Kane.
Stories were told via old letters written by the soldiers at Camp Kane. These stories were presented to our classes by Dr. Trevor Steinbach, the Interim President of the Society of Civil War Surgeons and a historical interpretationist.

Attention 5th Graders! Join 6th Grade Band at Thompson!
6th Grade Band is open to ALL incoming 6th Graders for the 2021-22 school year! This year 5th graders were not allowed to play wind instruments, but things are back to normal for next year! Students can choose from flute, oboe, clarinet, alto sax, french horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba or percussion. And don't worry -- ALL 6th graders will be at the beginner level on their wind instruments -- you will not be behind!
