NEW IN THE LMC

New Databases and Interactive Books

The year is off to a great start in the LMC. Thank you for your flexibility as we learn to work with Kathi being with us half time. This year we have two new resources to support our students. Both resources support the Common Core emphasis on nonfiction. Please take time to explore these and to share your thoughts. I hope they are useful to you and your students!

Pebble Go

Pebble Go is a database that is excellent for primary grades. We have access to all three of their databases - Biographies, Animals, and Earth and Space. They will also be adding a Social Studies database this fall that we will be able to access. Please visit www.pebblego.com to check it out.

Lerner Interactive Books

Great Books to Support the Curriculum

I purchased a number of Lerner interactive books. I tried to purchase at least one book that would support each grade level's curriculum. These can be accessed online and have many wonderful features. It will even read the text to the student! One of the best features is that these can be accessed anywhere and by any number of students at the same time as opposed to most e-books that can only by used by one child at a time. Each book also has a game or some type of activity included. These are excellent to project on the Smartboard with students. You may access them at http://ebooks.lernerbooks.com/bookshelf
