Common Struggles for Digital Learning
The article is aimed at high school students/parents, but includes some wonderful strategies that may help students of any age. Here are some highlights:
- Create an environment that is similar to a regular school day.
- Use a timer to help structure work and break times
- Get up, shower, get dressed, eat breakfast each morning just like you would as if you were going to school on campus. This helps give the body and brain cues to help focus and handle anxiety.
- Set goals and use a schedule or planner each day.
Psychology Today also has an article with similar strategies. This article goes into some detail on how to talk to teens about the process and ideas for setting up some consistent routines. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/its-all-relative/202003/helping-your-teen-succeed-remote-learning
