Educators develop data skills
Since summer 2013, the SD-STARS team has facilitated courses for educators to help develop their data knowledge and skills. This year’s Fundamentals of Data Use for Educators course was a collaboration between the SD-STARS team and the University of South Dakota, giving educators an opportunity to find and analyze data, create plans based on what they learned from the data, and prepare to monitor and evaluate those plans throughout the coming school year. This summer, the course was held via Zoom. Each participant worked with breakout groups and independently to finish a data project.
With recent staffing changes, the SD-STARS team will be reassessing the courses to determine our plans for future summers. If you have any feedback, please email STARSHelp@state.sd.us.
