Ortega’s Oration
Dear Bryan High Community,
We hope this communication finds you well. Safety continues to be our priority during this ongoing pandemic and is at the forefront of our work as we begin our second semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. We will have another vaccination clinic at our school on January 27 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, February 17 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, and March 10 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM. No appointment is necessary.
As we start our second semester, I would be remiss if I didn’t highlight our first semester successes! At the end of first semester, 89% of our freshmen were on track to graduate in four years based on number of course credits earned, and 65% of our freshmen taking a reading class showed growth in their reading grade levels, with their improvement ranging up to 8 grade levels! Additionally, 515 positive student referrals were written by our amazing teachers to recognize great kids doing great things in our school community! Finally, just this past Tuesday, Bryan High was named the 2022 Multicultural and Social Justice School of the Year! We have much to celebrate here in Bear Country!
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring your student is responsible, safe, and respectful at Bryan High every single day!

Interactive Profession Practice: Academies are designed to help students achieve clearer insights into possible career interests. Here, students gain hands-on experience in designing floral arrangements with fresh flowers in Mrs. Wilton-Cooper's classes. The results looked and smelled beautiful!

Preparing for College and Careers: Academies help students and their families better plan for college and careers after they graduate high school. This fall, University of Nebraska-Lincoln representatives visited Dr. Harvey's classes to present on college majors/career options for Urban Ag Academy students.
