Week 5, Term 1, Friday 4 March

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Kia ora Parents and Caregivers

As expected, we have had some families impacted by Covid-19 this week.

A handful of children are isolating due to being household contacts. Two children have tested positive themselves. A separate note has been sent via Seesaw if your child is in one of the classes with a Covid case.

As communicated earlier this week, children in the classes are not considered close contacts and should continue to attend school. The Ministry of Health says to keep a close watch of family for anyone with symptoms. If unwell, please stay at home and get advice about getting a Covid-19 test.

Despite these cases, our children are settled and appear happy to be at school. A big thanks to my staff for their efforts keeping our school a fun place to be!

Have a lovely weekend.

Nga mihi,

Steve

Term One Learning Conferences

In light of government guidelines and our general position in regard to the response to COVID19, we are making some changes to the way in which we have our learning conferences this term.

All children’s learning folders will be sent home in week 10. These are a snap shot of what your children’s learning looks like on a day to day basis at Onekawa School.

In addition to sending home learning folders, we would like to invite parents to have a phone conversation with our teachers to talk about your child’s learning during Week 10 or 11.

We will be sending details about how to book a phone conversation in a few weeks time.
