Lester Prairie Schools will soon have a new Bulldog to welcome students, staff, and visitors to our school!

DeVan Stoltenow and Sheila (Jilek) Reynolds donated a bronze Bulldog for our entrance plaza. The Bulldog will be installed and anchored to a concrete platform centered on the plaza sometime in the near future. If you see DeVan or Sheila, give them a hearty Bulldog Thank You for their very generous donation!

Meet Lyndsey Grand - LP's New EL Teacher

Lyndsey grew up in Hutchinson and received her teaching degree from Concordia College in Moorhead. One of her favorite things to do is read - especially historical fiction, nonfiction, and science fiction. Lyndsey loves to spend much of the fall canning vegetables from her gardens. Her hobbies include running, traveling, knitting, gardening, and watching hockey. In fact, hockey season is her favorite season!

Lyndsey's favorite movie is Fried Green Tomatoes because at one time she thought about being a lawyer. Her favorite book is Song of Solomon because of the important life lessons it teaches. If she could meet any historical person, it would be Ernest Hemingway because he lived an incredible life, full of adventure.

One thing you may not know about Lyndsey is that she student taught high school English with Ms. Smith here in Lester Prairie Schools!

Meet Wesley Kapping - LP's new SPED Teacher

Wesley is originally from Spring Valley, Wisconsin and completed his undergrad work at UW-Stevens Point and Masters at UW-River Falls. He spent 15 years working as a school counselor for HLWW, Dean of Students for 8 years at Holy Trinity, and also taught Health and PE courses. He is a long time coach including track and field, wrestling, and JH football. Wesley lives in Winsted with his wife, Sarah, and daughters Grace and Clara who are 7th and 9th grade students at Lester Prairie Schools.

One of Wesley's favorite things to do is compete in obstacle course racing. He's competed in 45 races. Most have been in Minnesota, but he also qualified for championship events in California and Ontario, Canada.

Something you may not know about Wesley is that he is a huge fan of 80's rock music and has attended many concerts. Some of the bands he's seen include: Metallica, KISS, Guns n Roses, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Poison, and Tesla.

If he could meet any historical person, it would be Rafer Johnson because he overcame many obstacles to become a world class athlete and was able to use that platform to transition into political and social endeavors.
