THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
CONS OR PROS
THE SPARK OF THE REVOLUTION
The effect of the Industrial Revolution changed the course of American history, but it comes with two sides: the pros and the cons. The spark of the Revolution started with the textile factory that was manufacturing products in London, England. From then on America was inspired to make there own industrial factories. The cons outweigh the pros because the cons were destructive to society.
CONS: Child Labor
Iqbal Masih was a child worker in Pakistan who worked in a rug industry. In the rug industry children must use their tiny hands in order to weave the rugs in detail, but in order to maintain the worker's tiny hands had to be malnourished in order for them not to grow.
CONS: Poor Factory Conditions
In “The jungle” written by Upton Sinclair the article explains the unsanitary conditions of working in meat factories in Chicago, Illinois. In these meat industries workers put meat into grinders that is dangerous and can sometimes catch limbs which would amputate workers and eventually those workers could not get another job because they were considered useless.
CONS: Extreme Working Hours
Foxconn a industrial factory in China that makes 50% of the technology we use.Millions of Chinese workers live in poverty areas because they can't afford to live in regular working class home, they must share their living spaces with other people.
