Shark Tank Entrepreneurs
The DW Shark Tank program participants had a blast in their final pitching presentation in front of judges who included local business entrepreneurs, school representatives, and our school partners.
The Shark Tank teams received checks ranging from $50 to $130 so students could continue their project in an upcoming May national competition via Zoom. The top three teams are the first place Fashion Guru team of Raina Jayam, Saachi Churiwala and Shagun Sharma. Second place went to the Bored Game team designed by Meher Taneja and Naina Rao. Sanjay Advani and Archis Gupte placed third with Auto Save. The Fashion Guru app is designed to help people assemble outfits from the items in their closet and also suggests items that they might purchase from their favorite designers.
The Learning Fund Foundation (LFF), which sponsored the event, extended a wholehearted thanks to the Shark Tank judges who spent over three hours evaluating projects. The LFF would like to thank its main sponsor Code Ninja, of Long Grove, for this event and SHS Freshman Mentor Eshaam Bhattad. Before presenting their final projects to judges, the Shark Tank students spent eight weeks learning about the invention and entrepreneurship process with coaches Rachel Chiesa and Sue Vani.

We're Almost There!
Daniel Wright needs 37 parents to fill out the Illinois 5Essentials Survey so we have access to their feedback regarding school climate and learning conditions in District 103 through the state-administered, Illinois 5Essentials Survey. We need 20 percent of our parents to take the survey in order to see the results. The chart shows how many Daniel Wright parents have taken the survey to date.
The 5Essentials survey is a great way for D103 parents to provide input into the five indicators from the survey that affect and predict school success:
Effective Leaders
Collaborative Teachers
Involved Families
Supportive Environments
Ambitious Instruction
