History of football
How football came to be what it is today.
In 1920 the American Professional Football Association was formed, two years later the league changed its name to the " National Football League". Walter Camp also known as the "father of football" was the basically the first to institute the idea for football. Football started out mainly being played in Midwestern towns but eventually became a national phenomenon. the NFL makes money through many ways such as; selling tickets, advertisement and selling television packages to TV providers.
They hypothesized that they could change the sport of rugby and make it safer and more appealing to americans. At first they only changed some rules like adding equipment. They came up with the idea of adding equipment by looking at the sport of rugby and coming to the conclusion that wasn't safe enough. They later added rules to protect individual players.
