LVUSD's Jennifer Mettler Named National Teacher of the Year

Las Virgenes Unified School District teacher Jennifer Mettler has been named the 2019 SHAPE National Teacher of the Year. Jennifer has taught physical education at A.C. Stelle Middle School for 15 years and went through a rigorous nomination and vetting process before receiving this honor.

In 2018, Jennifer was named CAHPERD (California Association of Health Physical Education Recreation and Dance) Middle School Teacher of the Year. In 2009, she became a National Board Certified Teacher and renewed her certification in 2019. As a strong voice for wellness and quality physical education for all students, she has advocated at the local, state, and national level, even lobbying on Capitol Hill.

LVUSD congratulates Jennifer for being recognized with this tremendous honor.
