October 2021

Hello October!

October brings us two exciting member's socials!

BUNCO at the famous Heretic Brewing Company! Due to the nature of the game you will get a chance to meet almost every single participant! It is a fun game and cash prizes are the best! Our giveaway of the night will be an II Fiorello Olive Oil Company tasting for two and a gift set!

Our second social of the month we are taking a Road trip to Winters, California. Founded in 1875, Winters claimed a special place in California's history as the Sacramento Valley's commercial center for agriculture and passenger rail service. Throughout the years, Winters has retained its historic charm and rural lifestyle. We will take a tour of the Zen Terra Spa and Hotel Winters followed by lunch at a local restaurant. Our giveaway for this social will be a gift basket that will include a night stay at Hotel Winters!

If you haven't noticed already, Travis Spouses Governing Board elected to giveaway experiences at each of our member's socials. Experiences that will allow you to explore our local area and enjoy the company of your significant other or a friend. We truly hope you enjoy every opportunity to participate at our socials or our volunteer opportunities!

Travis Spouse’s Club (TSC) owns and operates the Travis Community Thrift Shop (TCTS). All of the profits earned at the Thrift Shop are exclusively used for charitable causes to benefit Team Travis, the local community, military service-related organizations and the TSC scholarship fund for graduating seniors and military spouses.

TSC also operated and manages the No Bounds Boutique located inside the Travis Community Thrift Shop. We offer low cost formal gown rental or the option to purchase a gown.

We are located at 560 Hickam Ave Building #247. The Parking/Entrance is off Waldron St.

We need YOU! The Travis Community Thrift Shop is an excellent opportunity to help give back to Travis Air Force Base community and to make new friends! Volunteers have to be at least 14 years old and have base access.

If you would like to volunteer, but are unable to come in during our business hours, we offer volunteer opportunities that will allow you to take inventory home for you to prepare to be sold at the Thrift Shop!

Check out our October Volunteer Hours sign up sheet for the month of October and sign up for a shift or two:

Since 2004, Operation Cookie Drop brings Holiday Cheer to dorm residents who are away from home during the Holiday season. Held on the first Wednesday of December, volunteers from all over the county join forces, year after year, to help bring this event to life.

Travis Air Force Base houses approximately 1200 dorm residents. Dorm Resident are single airmen who are new to the military. For most of these young airman, this is their first holiday season away from home.

COVID-19 has given us the opportunity to revamp the program with safety measures in mind while still providing a token of appreciation to our young dorm residents.

Help us reach our goal of providing a gift to all of our Travis Air Force Base dorm residents!

Gifts will include: $5 gift card, prepackaged sugar cookie, package of hot cocoa, candy cane, holiday card, a mug, and most important, a message of support from our community members!
