Belmont Elementary: A PAWSitive Place to Learn!

Big picture

Team BE is so very APPRECIATIVE of the LOVE our families have showered on us this week!

From the BEautiful sidewalk chalk greetings, flowers, breakfast, notes, Sonic drinks, flair pens, gifts of favorite things, massages and generous gift cards....we've been blown away by the love. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible PTO board for organizing an amazing week!

This is an incredibly hard and yet, immensely rewarding job...both directly related to the fact that we're dealing with humans. Our students, parents, and teammates are a constantly changing dynamic. I see our learning community as a kaleidoscope of learning and growing. It's a bit of a dance, a tapestry, a symphony. We have missteps, pulled strings and wrong notes along the way. But when it's all in sync...wow. Just wow. I love this place. I love this team. I love how we pour into our children every day. Thank you for pouring into our team this week. We are grateful and blessed by your generosity.

Speaking of BE PTO...We're Adding Board Members!

Do you have a love for all things SCHOOL?! You might want to consider joining the BE PTO Board! We are so appreciative of all of the time, creativity and generosity provided by our current Board members. This crew has a real, no nonsense approach to just digging in and getting the job done for kids.

We will have a co-treasurer job opening up next year. Do you have experience as a treasurer? Would you be willing to work with our remaining co-treasurer and train to take the lead the following year? If so, please consider reaching out or joining us at Belmont for the last PTO meeting of the year on Monday, May 15th at 7:00pm. Just come to the front door and we'll meet you there!

This is the last general PTO meeting of the year. We will vote on board officers (join us if you are hoping to snag one of those!) and start planning for the Fall 2023 Bulldog Dash! Who's with us?

Belmont Field Day is Wednesday, May 24!

Woohoo!! Field day is Wednesday, May 24th for literally the entire school!

3rd, 4th and 5th graders will participate in field day rotations from 9:00-11:30. Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders will participate in field day rotations primarily led by the 5th graders from 12:30-3:00. Then, all Kindergarten through 5th grade will participate in our traditional Tug-o-War at 3:00.

Important info:

  • Sunscreen and water bottles are SUPER GREAT IDEAS!! Please apply!
  • Dress for success- old clothes and tennis shoes rule! Hats are a good idea, too!
  • You might think about sending a second pair of socks and shoes to change into after playing in case the field is still wet in the morning. And a bag. They might need a bag to put those in. Phew!

  • K-5 STUDENT LUNCH OPTIONS:
  • Send an individual sack lunch from home!
  • Or if preferred, pre-order sack lunch from school by May 19th by emailing abeach@usd232.org. The lunch will include a Jammy Sammy, cheese stick, Goldfish crackers, baby carrots with ranch, frozen juice cup and milk. We have limited supplies available from the vendors at this time of the year, so order soon if needed! We appreciate it!
  • Parents will not be able to join their children for lunch on field day as we'll all be eating at the same time in classrooms and we can't accommodate so many extra bodies.

  • Who can attend? Only adults are allowed on the field with Belmont Bulldogs participating in field day. No siblings will be allowed to join in activities or go past a marked spectator zone. We STRONGLY encourage parents to find a sitter for siblings on field day so that they can freely volunteer or participate with their school-agers during the events of the day. It's FUN!! If that's not possible for you and you want to stop by to watch from the sidelines for a bit, there will be a spectator zone, but I can't guarantee that all events will be easily view-able from the site. Yes, indeed, the spectator zone will be in full view of the tug-o-war site at the end of the day.

  • VOLUNTEERS are welcome! Adults only! PLEASE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR THE TIME WHEN YOUR CHILD WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN FIELD DAY ACTIVITIES. 3rd-5th graders participate in the morning and Kdg-2nd graders participate in the afternoon. Directions for each activity will be printed on the back of each station sign. Mrs. Koester will also make the rounds to help demo or explain details.
  • Click here for 3rd-5th in the morning!
  • Click here for K-2nd in the afternoon!
  • Parents may also travel with their child's class and help out at each station.
