Fall Conferences

Hey Parents- Have you signed up for a fall conference? If not- please see the email your child's teacher sent out about them. Inside of that email is a link to a sign-up page. Click on the link and choose a day and time that works for you. If you don't see a time that works- email your child's teacher and we will gladly arrange another time for you to come in.

If your child participated in the Cookie Dough Fundraiser- please send in your money by Tuesday, Sept 20. Thank you for helping us earn money for after-school enrichment programs!

First Six Weeks Award Ceremony

Our First Assembly to celebrate grades, attendance and character traits will be Friday, Oct. 7th at 8am in the gym. All are invited. You will use your child's report card to determine if your child has all A's, A's and B's and perfect attendance. If your child is earning a character award you will be contacted by your child's teacher ahead of time.

Reading: Students will be working on practicing reading strategies this week. We will also be writing a reader's response for our first District assessment.

Writing: Students will be planning and drafting their first narrative.

Social Studies: Students will be learning about Land forms.

Spelling: Week 4 Words

bike, cake, home, white, same, whiles, store, name, miss, still, which, wish, with, them, then, these, rest, best

Grammar: We are trying something different and not giving the kids a quiz every week. The next grammar quiz will be on Friday, Sept. 30. Be on the look-out for a Grammar Time that will help your child study. You will find it in their binder next week.

Math: We are starting a new module! It begins with rounding and estimating. We will also be working with students on tracking their data from the previous module and setting goals for this unit. We are excited to see their growth other this year as we start tracking our progress more intentionally. In class today, students took a "benchmark" for Think Through Math. Students are now able to get on at home! A parent letter with a more detailed explanation is attached to this email.

Science: We are finishing up presentations on the scientific method and they are looking AMAZING! Students had the choice to make a poster, trifold, or google slides (similar to Powerpoint). We are starting our matter unit next week! Yay!
