INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION
Great inventions increased product production
Textile industry
Inventions like the flying shuttle invented by John Kay made it so yarn and other materials could be made twice as fast. In 1764, James Hargreavers invented the spinning jenny which worked as fast as more than 15 workers. In 1769, Richard Arkwright patented the water frame which then bacame the new source of power
Flying Shuttle
Patented 1733, It produced fabric faster than a person could and it increased production in the textile industry.
Spinning Jenny
Invented 1764, It reduced the amount of work needed to make yarn. One worker could work eight or more spools at once.
Water Frame
Patented 1769, Richard Arkwright used it to make the first water powered factory.
Cotton
Cotton Gin invented by Eli Whitney in 1793, cotton production increased because it separated seeds from the fiber more easily than a person.
Transportation
With help from capitalists, the steam locomotive, and the automobile, transportation became easier.
Turnpikes/Private Roads
