Mason Moose Minutes
February 24, 2021
Dear Mason Families,
Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful break last week! As we embark on having our students come back to Mason full-time beginning March 1st, several changes will need to take place to ensure the safety of our students. Please check out our revised Return to School Document for more information about the changes that will occur starting Monday (3.1.21). Please go over the changes with your child so that everyone is as prepared as possible for next week. We appreciate your support as we continue to do whatever it takes to best support our learners and community.
Thanks for your time,
Dr. Bishop
OFFICE NOTES
Summer Learning Opportunities
For the summer of 2021, GPPSS will create programming for all students that centers on key grade-level concepts and offers opportunities to collaborate with other students and teachers. This programming will be delivered through high-interest, appropriately-challenging courses and experiences.
The summer programming will be scheduled to allow for maximum participation, and to account for the various needs our GPPSS families have this summer. Our goal is to provide a summer experience that acknowledges what our students and families have experienced through the pandemic, while also preparing students to move forward successfully into the 2021-22 school year.
In addition to the usual summer programming
- Camp Invention
- St. Clair Shores Adult and Community Education (SCSACE) - High School ONLY for credit
- Camp O' Fun
- Extended School Year
- Summer Music and Theatre Offerings
- Summer Sports Camps
- Safety Town
GPPSS is offering three, two-week Summer Learning Bursts Tuesday-Thursday, between July 6-August 13, to cover key concepts while fitting easily into family schedules. Please complete this short Summer Learning Burst Survey 2021 to help us in the planning process for these short, targeted learning opportunities. The survey will close at 4 p.m., Wednesday, February 24.
