ENROLLMENT FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR
This year, RCS is using a new, online application and enrollment system. Open Enrollment for students who will be new to RCS is now underway. Applications are being accepted through February 24. Families can visit the Enrollment page on the RCS website (www.roxborocs.org) for more information and a link to apply: https://www.roxborocs.org/page/enrollment Siblings of current RCS students who will be coming to RCS for the first time next year should also submit an online application. The lottery will be held on Thursday, March 2.
Current students will be asked to complete an online Student Intent Form to let us know you will be returning next year. We use that information to determine how many openings we will have for new students at each grade level. Look for a link to that online form to be shared very soon!
Please contact Mrs. Jodi DeVillier at 336.597.0020, ext 322 or at devillierjh@roxborocs.org with any questions or if you need more information.

RCS Testing Corner
PSAT and PreACT Score Results
Mrs. DeVillier met with 10th and 11th graders during their English classes last week to review their PreACT and PSAT score results and discuss how students can use those to prepare for the ACT (or the SAT if they choose to take that exam on a national testing day). If you were absent the day she visited or if you take a different English class, you can visit her office (Room 222B) to pick up your PSAT or PreACT test booklet and a hard copy of your score report. Students who took the PSAT should have also received an email from the College Board on December 6 with a link to be able to access your scores online. The email would have gone to the address you provided on your PSAT answer sheet.
Here are links to some of the resources she discussed:

Juniors Taking the ACT at RCS on March 7
As a reminder, all RCS Juniors will be taking the ACT here on the RCS campus on Tuesday, March 7. The State requires that all 11th graders take this exam, and pays the fee (saving families over $60). Students can have their scores sent to four colleges or universities for free, thereby completing one step in their college application process. Mrs. DeVillier will be meeting with students later in February to help them set up their MyACT account so that they can select the colleges to receive their scores and so that they will be able to access their scores online. She will also be discussing other details about test day and will share permission slips for students to check out early after the exam with signed parent permission.
ACT Prep Opportunities
In preparation for the ACT, RCS is offering two ACT preparation opportunities:
On February 1, in lieu of classes, juniors will participate in an ACT Seminar in the morning. (The afternoon will be Bulldogs Care activities). There will be sessions on basic information about the ACT and general test-taking strategies; about using your practice test score results to prepare for the ACT; and review sessions specifically for the Math, English, Reading, and/or Science sections of the test. Juniors who will not be taking PCC classes off-campus that morning should use this link to sign up for three sessions of their choice: Sign-Up Genius . (Attendance will be recorded for each session.)
On Saturday, February 11, RCS will offer a free ACT Preparation Class sponsored by TRIO. The tentative time will be 10:00 AM to approximately 1:00 PM. Look for emails with more information as details are finalized.
ASVAB Results
Mrs. Jemalin Hall will be at RCS on Monday, January 30 to review ASVAB results with students who took that test earlier in January. Plan to meet her in the Library right after school. The session will begin at 3:15 and should take about 45 minutes. She asks that you bring your Chromebook with you.
