Students and Bullying
Bullying is a big issue worldwide. Kids are getting bullied all the time. But, why are they not speaking out against it? Teachers need to get more involved with the students, and this isn't the only issue. They need to make harsher consequences and hopefully kids wouldn't bully others as often.
Facts and Statistics
-160,000 teens skip school every day, just because of bullying
-By the age of 14, less than 35% of kids will talk to their peer about bullying.
-90% of 4th-8th graders are victims of bullying.
-Over 3.2 billion students are victims of bullying each year. But, this is only what gets reported. There most likely is three times this amount.
all these facts were a help from https://www.dosomething.org/facts/11-facts-about-bullying
Aren't these high numbers? How come we aren't doing more to stop this from happening?
Our Goals
To help prevent bullying, we hope to be able to do some of the following:
-guidance counseling for victims
- have a school-wide bullying awareness day where we can WEAR BLUE FORE BULLYING.
