everything you need to know to become a runner

Have you resolved to start running in the new year? Do it right so you avoid injury and reach your goals. In this workshop we'll teach you:


  • how to run without creating potentially damaging stress in your joints
  • how to structure your training for the best results without undue suffering
  • what you need to know about shoes, kit, and nutrition


The morning will include lecture, discussion, a small amount of running, a Feldenkrais movement lesson to improve your biomechanics, and before/after videos. You'll leave with a basic training plan, a running form checklist, and the knowledge needed to succeed!

Jae Gruenke, GCFP

Jae Gruenke is a running biomechanics expert and Feldenkrais Practitioner. Known as a “running form guru,” she is the Founder and CEO of The Balanced Runner™ in New York City and The Balanced Runner UK. She has helped runners from beginner to Olympian improve their form to become pain-free, economical, and fast. She specializes in helping those whose problems have not resolved with medical treatment and those transitioning to minimalist footwear or barefoot running.
