From the Nurse- Mrs. Conrad
Please be sure that you are doing the symptom self-checker for your students before sending them to school. If your student exhibits any symptoms on the self-checker, he/she needs to stay home. A negative COVID test or a written Dr note is required to return to school. IF your student comes to school with symptoms, they will be sent home. In order to keep our students and school community safe, we must adhere to the guidelines provided by the CDC, Department of Public Health and Red clay Consolidated School District.
Guidelines for quarantine
There have been several questions about quarantine. The school district works closely with Department of Public Health. If a student or staff member tests positive for Covid-19 and has been at school for two days prior, then the school nurse will begin to contact trace for that individual. Following the DPH guidelines, the nurse will identify those who are considered a close contact. These individuals are at a higher risk for testing positive so they are asked to quarantine for a period of 10 days or to show evidence of a negative test after day 5. Not everyone in a classroom will be considered a close contact. Your child may be and remain healthy for the time they are in quarantine, which can be frustrating, but it is a necessary process to make sure we limit the spread of Covid-19 in our building. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. All parents are asked to monitor your child for symptoms and to complete the self screener prior to sending your child to school each morning.
PBS Cart
The PBS cart has started back up at school. Students earn bulldog bucks for meeting schoolwide expectations of being respectful, responsible, and cooperative. While students are encouraged to save up for the end of marking period celebrations, they are able to spend bulldog bucks on the PBS cart each week.
