# Naomi's Shapes that Shape!!!

## Purpose and Challenge

Hi! This is Naomi's Shapes that Shape! The purpose of this S'more is for me to teach you geometry terms and for you to learn them in a fun, creative way. Your challenge of this S'more is to learn all the geometry terms and to try to figure out what I took a picture of for each term. Some are easy, some are hard. Play against your family, friends, and even your teacher! The winner will get a prize!!! Good luck!

## Point!!! A point is an exact location. | ## Line!!! A line is a straight path that has no thickness and extends forever in opposite directions. | ## Ray!!! A ray is a part of a line; it has one endpoint and extends forever in one direction. |

## Line Segment!!! A line segment is a part of a line or ray that extends from one endpoint to another. | ## Vertex!!! A vertex is the common endpoint shared by two rays. | ## Right Angle!!! A right angle is an angle that measures exactly 90º. |

## Trapezoid!!!

A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides.

## Acute Angle!!! An acute angle is an angle that measures greater than 0º, but less than 90º. | ## Obtuse Angle!!! An obtuse angle is an angle that measures greater than 90º, but less than 180º. | ## Parallel Lines!!! Parallel lines are lines in a plane that do not intersect. |

## Perpendicular Lines!!! Perpendicular lines are lines that intersect to form a right angle. | ## Parallel Lines!!! Parallel lines are lines in a plane that do not intersect. | ## Vertical Angles!!! Vertical angles are the opposite angles formed by two intersecting lines. Vertical angles are across from each other, and they are congruent. |

## Rhombus!!!

A rhombus is a parallelogram with all congruent sides.

## Scalene Triangle!!! A scalene triangle is a triangle with no congruent sides. | ## Isosceles Triangle!!! An isosceles triangle is a triangle with at least two congruent sides. | ## Equilateral Triangle!!! An equilateral triangle is a triangle with three congruent sides. |

## Right Triangle!!! A right triangle is a triangle containing a right angle. | ## Congruent Figures!!! Congruent figures are figures that have the same size and shape. | ## Supplementary Angles!!! Supplementary angles are angles that add up to 180º. |

## Complementary Angles!!!

Complementary angles are angles that add up to 90º.

## Hexagon!!! A hexagon is a polygon with six sides. | ## Pentagon!!! A pentagon is a polygon with five sides. | ## Octagon!!! An octagon is a polygon with eight sides. |

## Parallelogram!!! A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides. | ## Reflection Symmetry!!! Reflection symmetry is a transformation that flips a figure across a line. | ## Rotational Symmetry!!! Rotational symmetry is a transformation in which a figure is turned around a point. |

## Square!!!

A square is a rectangle with four congruent sides.

## Corresponding Angles!!! Corresponding angles are angles in the same position formed when a third line intersects two lines. Corresponding angles are congruent. The corresponding angles in this picture are A and C, B and D, E and G, F and H, I and K, J and L, M and O, and N and P. | ## Alternate Exterior Angles!!! ## Corresponding Angles!!!
