Pygmy-Possum

Description

The pygmy-possum is 10cm long. Its nose is pink and it has dark shadows around its eyes. It has grey, brown fur.


Distribution

The pygmy-possum lives only in alpine and subalpine areas on the highest mountains in Victoria and NSW.

Habitat and Ecology

They live on the ground in rocky areas where boulders have accumulated below mountain peaks. They eat mainly invertebrates and they have four babies in spring.
