The Clean 15 and Dirty Dozen

  • These lists were compiled using data from the USDA on the amount of pesticide residue found in non-organic fruits and vegetables after they had been washed. The fruits and vegetables on "The Dirty Dozen" list, when conventionally grown, tested positive for at least 47 different different chemicals, some as many as 67. For produce on this list you should definitely go organic.

"The Dirty Dozen" list includes:

Celery
Sweet bell peppers
Peaches
Spinach, Kale & Collard Greens
Strawberries
Cherries
Apples
Potatoes
Domestic blueberries
Imported grapes
Nectarines
Lettuce


All the produce on "The Clean 15" bore little to no traces of pesticides, and is safe to consume in non-organic form.

"The Clean 15" list includes:

Onions
Cabbage
Avocados
Eggplant
Sweet Corn
Cantaloupe
Pineapples
Mango
Sweet Peas
Watermelon
Asparagus
Grapefruit
Kiwi Fruit
Sweet Potatoes
Sweet Onions


Yummy Balls

These are pictured above. "So yummy and easy"

1/3 cup raw organic cashews
1/2 cup organic dates
1/8 tsp cinnamon

Chop the nuts in a food processor, and put into a bowl.

Chop the dates until they get into a big ball. Take out and add to the nuts.

Add in the cinnamon and mix up with your hands really well. Form into balls!
