BOILER VISION
BUILT ON TRADITION...PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE
Beginning in September, BBCHS took steps to begin their strategic planning process called Vision307. Vision307 will be defining specific goals that will shape our school district for the next five to seven years. Members of the staff, community, and student body were asked to participate on the strategic planning team. During the monthly meetings, team members are separated into smaller groups to discuss assigned readings and data presented ranging from student engagement and achievement abilities to school facilities.
In the most recent meeting, team members were presented with data and put together lists regarding BBCHS's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. This SWOT analysis will be presented to BBCHS staff and community members November 7.
BBCHS invites all community members in district 307 to participate in their SWOT analysis community forum November 7, 2017 at 7:00pm in the BBCHS Library. It is critically important that we have representation from a wide range of stakeholders willing to provide us with feedback. During this time, everyone will be asked to engage with the data and offer their opinions. This will help direct the strategic plan to be reflective of the community's vision for BBCHS.
"One focus of Vision307 is to make sure that our community has every opportunity to be heard and a part of our plan for the future." stated Dr. Scott Wakeley, Superintendent at BBCHS. "We want to make sure that as students leave BBCHS to join our community they feel prepared to be successful in whatever the next step is they choose."

Tri-M Service Projects for 2017-18
Tri-M will be having our annual ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’ Winter Clothing and Blanket Drive. It begins November 1 and runs through December 15. All donations are used to help local families and community members during the cold winter months. Tri-M has also paired with Ronald McDonald house in Chicago to have a year-long 'Project Pull Tab'! Students will be collecting pull tabs from aluminum cans and donating them to the Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald House helps families stay near their young loved ones while those children are receiving treatment at children's hospitals. Many local families have had to use this service, and Tri-M will be working all year collecting donations for this wonderful service.
