Director's Message

Dear Parents and Students,

I am saddened by the prospect that this year is winding down and I hardly had time to get to know the parents and students of the school better. I really appreciate the warm and friendly welcome I have received and the people that I had the pleasure of getting to know.

I had a short term contract as interim director that was from January to June. During the time I had here, I was introduced to Montessori education methods and the tremendous people that make this school function.

I am pleased however, to have had this experience of coming here. I have been happy to work with this community and be immersed in the many activities that have taken place. This is a real gem in the sea of the education world. I sincerely hope that you will continue with your dedication and love of Maria Montessori Academy.

I am also happy that Micah Hirokawa will be taking the role of director. He has a long term vision and commitment to the school. I know he will find a great deal of success as he works with this great community.

Thank you for your support of the school.

Mr. Mike

Early Childhood preschool program paused for 2020-2021

We are in unprecedented times and with the current Covid-19 situation, we may need to be prepared to dismiss school again in the future. Since this is difficult with a tuition based program, MMA feels it best to pause The HOUSE of Children (ages 3-5 yrs) for the upcoming year.

Our incoming director, Mr. Hirokawa has assured us that he is in support of having an Early Childhood program be a permanent part of Maria Montessori Academy and it will return in the future.

All Items must be claimed before Friday!

9th Grade Parents

One question we get a lot in the office is "What about my student's transcripts so I can register them for High School?"

FERPA law states that a student's academic file must be mailed via USPS to their new school. The new school must submit a formal request in writing (via fax or email) before MMA can release the records. This does happen until later in the summer, as the State of Utah does not roll over the academic year until July. If you are meeting with a potential school it is always a good idea to take your student's report card with you to show the credits they have received from MMA. Report cards will be mailed the first week of June.

If you have any other questions, or need a copy of your student's final report card during the summer, please contact the office. As per our school policy, it will be available 48 business hours after requested.

Please verify your contact information!

Now more than ever, it is important that MMA has your correct contact information (address, phone numbers and email) so that we can communicate with your student. Please log into your Aspire account and make sure your information is correct. If you move throughout the school year, please
