Band Spring Concert This Sunday

Grades 5-12 band students will be performing this Sunday at the Band Spring Concert. Join these students and Mr. Krieger at 2 p.m. in the auditorium for an afternoon of music and fun.

Mystery Dinner Hosted by Drama Class

The drama class will be hosting a mystery dinner on Mon., May 4. The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. in the auditorium and will include a full chicken dinner. Tickets are on sale for $12 each and may be purchased from Mrs. Davenport or any of the drama students.

...to Juliane Abernathy, Mary Choate, Olivia Owens, Emma Heupel, and Taylor McDaniel for qualifying to go to the State Track Meet.

...to the Varsity Boys Golf Team and Coach Pannell who qualified to go to the Sub-State competition in Athens on Monday.

...to Hannah Pope who qualified to compete in the Sub-state Golf Tournament on Monday in Gadsden.

Alumna Kelly Fulks Broadfoot: Outstanding Counseling Graduate Student

Alumna Kelly Fulks Broadfoot ('06) was recently named Outstanding Counseling Graduate Student at the University of North Alabama (UNA). She was honored at the Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society Induction ceremony earlier this month.


Kelly is married to Jeremy Broadfoot, and they are expecting their first child in August. They currently attend Woodlawn Church of Christ.


In 2010, she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and minored in Political Science.

She is currently on track to graduate from UNA in July of this year with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.


One of her favorite memories from Mars Hill was winning the basketball state championship during her junior year of high school. Congratulations, Kelly! We're proud of you!

After School Tutoring Available

We will be offering AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING (elementary through middle school grades) at no charge on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3-4 pm. If you are interested in your child staying, please notify the office by note, phone, or email.

Driver's Ed Sessions This Summer

Driver's Ed will be taught in two weeks this summer: May 26-29 and June 8-11. MHBS students are encouraged to attend the May 26 session. Forms are in the high school office, and questions may be directed to Matt Burgess at mburgess@mhbs.org.
