News and Notes

Dear Parents,

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I can't believe that we are in the final days of the 19-20 school year. I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the support you have given our community and our teachers. This has been an unprecedented year, but we got through it together. I am excited for the Summer, as I am sure you all are as well.

We have a very busy week ahead of us. Tomorrow, June 16th, is Virtual Field Day and class parties! Field Day Zoom information will be posted on Mr. Medico's Google Classroom tomorrow morning. Information, including the schedule for tomorrow, is posted below and was emailed to you last week. Virtual class parties are at 1pm. Friday is our Pick Up Parade. Information is posted below. Student medication will be returned during this time. I can't wait to see all of you!

Thank you and have a wonderful week,

Ms. Kazan

Congratulations!

Congratulations to our 8th Grade Graduates. They received a combined $589,520 in scholarship offers this year! It will be sad to see them graduate this Saturday but we are so proud of them and excited for their journey.

Summer Work

During our Virtual Moving Up Day, teachers informed your children that we will be handling Summer Work differently this Summer. We, as a faculty, decided that our families and students needed a break this Summer. There will be no specific assignments this Summer. We are, however, encouraging all students to read as many books as possible. We want them to spend this summer enjoying reading books on their level and to challenge themselves while reading. We are also encouraging your children to practice their math facts to keep their skills strong. Each teacher has given recommendations to your children to help them prepare for next year.

Process for Pick Up of Student Belongings

Friday, June 19, 2020 – 10:00 – 11:30

Yeah!!! We made it to the last day of school. What a year!!! We will have an end of year drive through parade/Pick Up and Drop Off. You can decorate your cars and write posters saying goodbye to your teachers.

Teachers have emptied all students' desks & lockers. No one will be allowed in the building for any reason. Please wear a mask.

Your teachers will send a list of items (books, Chromebook, charger, etc.) that need to be returned. Please place them in a bag and put in your car trunk with your child's name on it.

  • Teachers will be lined up in the school parking lot.
  • Please stay in order, do not go around another car. It will move quickly.
  • When you pull up to your child's homeroom grade, please pop your trunk.
  • The teacher will put your child’s belongs in the trunk and remove the Chromebook and textbooks you are returning.
  • Please do not get out of your cars for any reason.

If you are unable to pick up your child’s belongings, you must email the school and schedule an appointment to drop off.

It is our hope that most families will come on June 19, so the faculty and staff can use this opportunity to say goodbye and celebrate the end of the year.
