Joan Adler and Catherine Smith have been invited to Georgia for a series of events and presentations relating to the Straus family and their Georgia connection. The following events will be taking place between October 31st and November 5th. If you would like more information about these events, please contact us.

Joan and Catherine will also be touring Talbotton and Columbus during their trip. Please let us know if you would like to join them to get an exclusive tour of the areas where the Straus' lived, worked and began their prominent business!

Presentation at the Talbot County Historical Society

On October 31st, Joan Adler will be giving a presentation about the Straus history after Georgia sponsored by the Talbot County Historical Society. This talk will take place at the beginning of "Harvest Days in Old Talbot," the seventh annual weekend hosted by Michael H. and Debbie Buckner of the Patsiliga Museum in Junction City, GA.

On Friday, November 1st, Joan Adler will be giving a presentation about her book For the Sake of the Children: The Letters Between Otto Frank and Nathan Straus Jr. followed by a book signing. The presentation will take place after the 7:30 service at Temple Israel, located at 1617 Wildwood Avenue, Columbus, GA 31906.

Harvest Days in Old Talbot

"Harvest Days in Old Talbot" is the seventh annual weekend hosted by the Michael H. and Debbie Buckner of the Patsiliga Museum in Junction City, GA. Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of a by-gone era on November 2 & 3, 2013 from 10 am to 5 pm.


You are encouraged to spend the day. Bring your own picnic lunch or enjoy the hot dogs, hamburgers, and barbecue sold by the Junction City Volunteer Fire Department. Adult admission is $5 and children under the age of 5 are free.
