Mumps symptoms include swelling of the jaw and of the neck. It is passed by the air and it incubates in the body for fourteen to twenty-four days before symptoms show. The only ways to take care of mumps are they can be treated with pain relievers, soft foods, and lots of fluids or be prevented with a vaccination, which is usually given in the second year of life. The mumps virus must be stopped.
