READ, DEED RUN INFORMATION ----- Meeting Tues the 17th for 3rd, 4th and 5th who are interested!

What is RDR? Read-Deed-Run is an awesome organization that is for the whole child in grades 3-5. We complete deeds for our community, track our reading, and get some miles under our feet. Students are required to complete 26 deeds, read 26 book (or 2600 pages in their books), and run 26.2 miles. We meet after school twice a month throughout the school year to complete deeds and runs together. We celebrate the completion of our program with a 1.2 mile run at Legacy Stadium in May.

We will hold a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, September 17 at 5:30 pm in the gym. If you are interested in signing up please click the link below. Hope to see you there!

Crowded Lunchroom

We are so glad so many of you choose to come visit your student during lunch. We hope you understand that we have limited space for visitors, and visitors MAY NOT sit at the regular lunch tables due to safety concerns. You might want to consider visiting on days other than Mondays and Fridays as these days seem to be especially crowded.

Also, district policy states that only parents and grandparents, and non-school aged siblings are able to visit during lunch. Unfortunately, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends are not able to attend. We appreciate your support.

The Bethke Parent Handbook

We are still waiting on official publication of the Katy ISD Parent Handbook, but we wanted to share the Bethke pages with you. This information and lots of other helpful information can be found on the Bethke Website. It can be found here:

Bus Expectations this Week

This week, we'll be reviewing Bethke Expectations on the bus. We'd love you to reinforce this at home too. Ask your student what they've learned about riding the bus safely. Thank you!

Our Five Rules!

We use "5 Rules" from Whole Brain Teaching. Your child should be able to model this for you. Having consistency throughout our building with these rules, helps our students understand expectations and creates a happy place for all to learn.

Here are the 5 Rules--- + the "Diamond Rule!" Ask your child to recite them for you and we appreciate you reinforcing them with us.

Rule #1--Follow Directions Quickly

Rule #2--Raise your Hand for Permission to Speak

Rule #3--Raise your Hand for Permission to Leave Your Seat

Rule #4--Make Smart Choices

Rule #5--Keep Your Learning Environment Happy

Diamond Rule--Keep Your Eye on the Target

Track your child's Bus!

The Katy ISD Transportation Department is exited to communicate that all 2019 – 2020 route buses will be equipped with GPS systems. With the new GPS systems, parents, campuses and Transportation personnel will be able to track buses in real-time through a downloadable application from Edulog. Parents and patrons having children riding buses in Katy ISD, the link below contains information on how to download the application. We look forward to working with our parents and campuses as we continue to find new ways to improve safety, efficiency, and responsiveness within the Transportation Department.

Your school’s GPS district code to use in the application is : 52697930
