Back-to-School

A warm welcome to the 2020-2021 school year from the Colonial Hills PTA!

While we're not able to have our traditional back-to-school social, we still want to provide families with information about the PTA, Cougar spirit wear, our new Outdoor Learning Space, scout groups and more! When you bring your child to the school for assessments this week, please visit the tables out front.

CHES PTA

It’s a new school year, and you are encouraged to join the Colonial Hills PTA. Our PTA provides a setting for parents, teachers, and the community to unite to ensure a better future for our children. We do not know what this upcoming year will look like exactly, but we do know we will need each other more than ever. We invite you to join us at our monthly PTA meetings where everyone is welcome and each member has a voice.

There are 2 ways to join:

- Complete the online form using a credit card and this 3D Cart link.

- Print and return this membership form with cash or a check payable to Colonial Hills PTA.

PTA MEETINGS: Tuesdays at 7:00 PM

Cougar Spirit Wear Sale

Whether we're full remote learning or hybrid, Colonial Hills will be celebrating with a school spirit day each FRIDAY! Show your Cougar Pride with CHES spirit wear and support the PTA through this school AWESOME fundraiser.

The Awesome Company is a design and printing studio based in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded with a simple, powerful idea: awesome is everywhere. They are dedicated to embracing and providing employment for people with autism.

The fall sale includes a variety of shirts and 2 versions of youth masks. Please Note- the gaitor masks are not recommended for wear to school.

The store is open until September 11, 2020 and deliveries will occur around September 25th. If you have questions about spirit wear, please contact Sarah Mullen at sarahemullen7@gmail.com

School Supply Kits

The school supply orders have arrived and are ready for your kiddos! If you ordered one, please pick it up during your child's meet the teacher/ assessment this week. You might want to save the box to bring the supplies back in once we are able to return to the classroom.

Outdoor Learning Space

While you're at the school, don't forget to walk down into the ravine and check out the progress in building the Outdoor Learning Space! This space will allow CHES to integrate nature, exploration, curiosity and compassion into our kids' daily educational experience.

Ravine and Garden Clean Up

Volunteer this week to help the ravine paths, cross country course and school gardens look their best. While not all of these spaces may get used right now, our hope is that kids will be in the ravine a great deal once they go back to in-person learning, and we want them to be ready! Please follow the link below to sign up on Wednesday or Thursday evening or Saturday morning.

Adventure Guides

Adventure Guides is a father and son program for elementary school boys. Participants spend quality time together, participating with other families in a wide range of activities that strengthen relationships, provide a sense of belonging, and teach the importance of giving back to the community. More information on this program can be found here.

Girl Scouts

More information regarding troops and sign-ups will be shared on the tables this week.

PTA Survey

If you have a few minutes, please complete this survey to help the Worthington PTA/PTO acquire information on how to increase involvement and membership. It is intended for parents and teachers in the Worthington school district (both PTA/PTO members and non-members).
