Expectations for all Teachers
Reminder of General Expectations for All Teachers (Communication)
· Elementary Homeroom teachers should call all students daily, then establish a system for communication and check-ins for additional assistance.
· ADA Documentation for contact must be maintained and documented.
· Information to create a Remind account can be found HERE.
· Communicate with students and parents regularly. This communication includes information about assignments, grades, and live teacher assistance times.
· Contact parents of students who are not completing assignments as there may be a larger issue at home we need to know about.
· Continue to check and respond to email daily.
Week 2 of the 6th Six Weeks
The week at a glance (WAG) is an example of what can be taught this week. Please make sure your campus has instructional planning calendars (IPC) that your teachers will follow.

ATTENDANCE
Teachers confirm and enter attendance every Tuesday and Friday.
- At-Home Learning Participation:
- Participation is confirmed if the student had logged into a teacher learning site (Google Classroom, PowerSchool Learning, etc).
- Participation is confirmed if the parent/student notifies the teacher they are engaging in the learning activities via learning packets or other non-online learning engagement (review of website and completing activities). Notification can be through email, phone call, and/or text messaging.
- Participation is confirmed if the parent notifies the teacher that they are attempting to participate but have circumstances that are hindering their participation such as: family emergencies, illness, lack of resources (electricity, water, internet, transportation, child care, homelessness, or other situations that would also impact student learning in face-to-face education). These situations require principals and other campus staff to contact parents and provide support.
- Participation is not measured by quantity of work provided, length of time logged in, or quality of work produced. These conditions would be reflected in grading and teacher-student/parent support.
- Tuesday attendance: Teacher confirms at-home learning participation or attempts to participate on at least one of the following days: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and/or Tuesday.
- Friday attendance: Teacher confirms at-home learning participation or attempts to participate on at least one of the following days: Wednesday, Thursday, and/or Friday.
- Unexcused Absences: Students are only marked as having an Unexcused Absence if the teacher has attempted multiple times to contact parents/students and received no response at all. Confirmation of participation should begin well before the Tuesday/Friday deadline. Teachers should be encouraged to keep a log of participation so that on Tuesday and Friday, they have very few students/parents to reach out to.
