Important Deadlines are Approaching!
2022-2023 CACFP applications are currently open. The deadline for submission is
September 30. Be sure to complete the Annual Audit Screen.
Only complete applications that have no errors will be approved for renewal. Submit yours today!
All CACFP renewing CEs must have an approvable application submitted; CACFP renewing CEs whose applications cannot be approved as submitted as of December 1, 2022, will be declared Serious Deficient (SD).
Contact your CACFP Specialist should you have any questions or need technical assistance completing your application.

TDA's creative new calendar menu templates include a monthly theme to "get in gear with a healthy school meal," helping to inform and engage students and families about school meals. English and Spanish files are available through the links below.

Save the date – FREE Farm Fresh Summit 2022!
Education Service Center Region 11, in conjunction with the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), will present our second annual Farm Fresh Summit on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. This summit will discuss innovative ways to grow and include fresh foods in our children's diets, purchase the product directly from the source (procure), and learn how to support our local producers.
Join us as we bring together local producers — including farmers, farmer's markets, cattle/dairy/produce farmers, and TDA experts — to meet program operators (schools and Child and Adult Food Care Programs). The day will include a general session and breakouts on various topics, such as
- composting,
- aquaponics,
- gardens,
- produce safety,
- fresh herbs,
- Agrilife curriculum on how to incorporate it into the schoolroom setting with "Junior Master Gardeners (JMG) Learn, Grow, Eat & Go!,"
- TDA resources,
- and so much more!
