A Peek at the Week

April 22, 2019

Time away from school and routines does a soul good! My hope is that you had a restful break filled with fun and time with loved ones. The days ahead are so important. We only have a short time with our students this school year. Let's make every moment count! I pray that spring break gave you the energy you need to create magical moments in your classroom in the days ahead. Let's do this!

Grade Level Recess

We will have grade level recess this week. Please use this extra planning to ensure you are answering the following questions as you spend time planning.

1. What do you want your students to know and be able to do?

2. How will you know if each student has learned it?

3. How will you respond if students do not learn it?

4. How will you extend the learning for students who have demonstrated proficiency?

These are the four guiding questions in a PLC. As a team, spend some time looking at what is most important to cover in the days ahead and make a plan to use each other to ensure mastery just as you did and continue to do with your promise standard.

**Important Training for 3rd-5th Grade Teachers

Sarah will be at school Wednesday to provide training on the Online tutorial for SCReady. Make sure you arrive on time so that you do not miss anything. There are new tools that are important for you to know so that you can prepare your students for testing. After this training, make plans to do this tutorial numerous times with your students so that they are very comfortable with the testing tools and format of SCReady on the iPad.

Word of the Week: Cherish

For your information: Note the suggestion that students need to read at least 50 books on their just right level before moving from one level to the next. More proof that we need to ensure students have time to read and read a lot!
