September 11 Anniversary

"Most of us remember the morning of September 11, 2001. Where we were; what we were doing; who we called. But as the 20th anniversary approaches, we find ourselves living in a time when many of our schoolchildren were either born after that date, or were too young at the time to remember the attacks. For those kids, here are eight thoughtful, sensitive children’s books about September 11, 2001."

Please click on the link below if interested in using the power of a picture book to help your family tell the story of an important day in history.

All students participated in a moment of silence this morning in honor of the men, women, children, pilots, military, police officers and fire fighters that dedicated their lives to protect our safety and freedom.

The Perfect Pastries Fundraiser was a Huge Success!

Congratulations, SCE! You did it!

We reached our goal of $10,000 in sales and we get another reward!

School Dismissal Manager - System is a GO

We are launching next week!

Families - your responsibility is to:

1. Be on the lookout for 2 emails next week. One from Mrs. Rich via Skylert. One from School Dismissal Manager with login and password information to set your default dismissal.

2. ALL families must complete the step of putting in how your child gets home on a typical day. The last day to set a default is Monday September 21 (you may set different defaults for different days of the week).

3. Determine if one family member will create exceptions as needed or if all family members will have control to make exceptions.

  • It is imperative that your child's default is set within the transition week as this will lock in and only the Office will be able to change defaults after September 21.
  • We will continue with our current call-in dismissal system and SDM the week of September 20-24, to allow time to transition.
  • Starting September 27, notes and emails will no longer be accepted to change dismissal.
  • All dismissal exceptions must be completed by families online before 1 PM.
  • Teachers will be instructed to use only SDM for dismissal starting Monday, September 27.
