Heins Mentoring April Newsletter
April 2022
A Special Thank You!
Greetings Heins Mentor House students and parents! I have returned to work this week after maternity leave. My daughter Raelynn was born on February 9th and she and the family are doing well. I want to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Salinas for being my long-term sub while I was away.
This Month in Mentoring
Individual check in's will continue in April and May. I meet with each student to discuss their goals, grades, and progress. Students also have the time to work on PFA's and projects during this time. On April 13th the juniors will be taking the SATs, and one group of juniors is using our regular classroom. Therefore, we will be in room A242 for April 13th. Teachers will not have any office hours during this day, so students will be in one room for the day. This can be a great day for students to work on PFAs.
Being Prepared and PFA's
Please encourage your student to be on time and prepared for mentoring on Wednesdays. They need to have work with them and have their device charged. Students have lots of time to take PFA's. They must pass the diagnostic and show me their notes in order to prove they are prepared to take the content assessments.
