Dear Mason Families,
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful 5 days off! As you already know, we are learning remotely until further notice and we are going to do our best to make the most out of this experience. If there is anything we can do to continue to support you at home as you support your child please let us know. Our staff continues to work hard (trust me remote learning isn't easy for them even though they make it look easy) to best support your child and your grace and patience is appreciated.
Dr. Roy Bishop, Jr.
Principal
We want you to be a part of our Daily Announcements!
Dr. Bishop is looking for your Funny Jokes, Best Quotes and Favorite Book videos for our daily announcements.
You can send in a short video NO LONGER THAN 15 SECONDS to Mrs. Collins from the Mason Homepage.
We will share your videos throughout the year. Come on Mason - show us what you’ve got!
Information from our Mrs. Stateczny our School Social Worker
Beginning on Wednesday, November 18th Mrs. Stateczny (Title 1 Social Worker) and Ms. Mollison (School Social Work Intern) will be holding office hours. The office hours will start at 12:30 and will end at 1:15. This will be available to students every Wednesday during remote and hybrid learning. Students can sign on to Zoom during this time to play supervised games, have social time with each other, and to discuss any concerns they may be having. Their grown ups at home are also welcome to join! Please click here to access the Zoom link. We are looking forward to seeing everyone!
Diversity Den
This week we are highlighting the picture below that explains Equality vs Equity! Here are some sample questions you might want to discuss at home:
What do you see/notice about the pictures below?
Do some people need more support/help from others? Is that okay?
Why is it important that everyone gets what they need vs what they want?
How do we help remove barriers for others so everyone gets what they need?

Schoology and Tech Support
What is my student’s new password?
The annual rollover of student accounts was completed ahead of schedule. Students can now access any of their GPPSS digital material (Google, Clever, Schoology, Chromebooks) with their new password. To find their new password, log into the MiStar Parent Portal. Once you find your student, scroll down, and their password will be available under “Student Login Information.”
Schoology Tips and Help for Students and Families
It would be helpful to learn how to login into the Schoology page and then “bookmark” it, so that it is easy to access every day. To do so, you and your child will need access to their school ID number and password. To find your child’s password, login to Parent Portal and you will find them there. The password should be a nine digit number beginning with 1500 and their password is made up of random letters and numbers. I recommend writing this down in a place where you can easily find it.
Next, Click here for specific directions from the District on how to access Schoology. This link will also direct you to the logins for both parents and students. Again, we highly recommend bookmarking the “Student Login” page so that students can easily access
