Student Council Tissue Drive
Hello Scroggs Family,
As you know we are in the middle of cold and flu season and many of our classrooms are in need of boxes of tissue. In order to support this need, the Mary Scroggs Student Council will hold a Kleenex/Tissue Drive that will run from January 21, 2020-January 31, 2020. Please drop off your donations in the front lobby of our school.
Thank you for your support.

They will work to complete a checklist of acts of kindness to encourage them to practice kindness each day. There is also a family edition of the checklist for the Great Kindness Challenge if you would like to participate at home. Find more information at thegreatkindnesschallenge.com.

The flu cases are rising fast in our county. Remind the children to wash their hands and cover their sneezes.
It’s not too late for you to get a flu shot, if you haven’t had one this year!
Nosebleeds It is wintertime and we will see an increase in nosebleeds. What to do when a student has a nosebleed: Have the child sit upright with their head tilted forward Firmly pinch the soft cartilage portion of the nose located just below the bony bridge with thumb and index finger Hold this pressure for 5 minutes. The bleeding usually stops after 5 minutes. If not, then apply pressure for another 5 minutes. Discourage the child from blowing/picking their nose after a nosebleed. Because blood also trickles down the back of their throat. They might cough up or vomit blood.
