S.T.E.A.M Night was a great success thank you to all our students, staff members, and families for coming out! 670+ students shared 2 to 3 pieces of artwork each. That makes close to 2,000 pieces of artwork throughout the halls. Numerous parents and staff members volunteered to help display artwork around the building. Mrs. Chadwick thanks you TREMENDOULY! Thank you to Mrs. Beadles and Mrs. Gibe who where able to host a Planetarium in the gym for families to enjoy. - The playground will be closed to visitors during Field Day times as we will still have classes using the playground equipment for their recess activities.
- Please know that Field Day activities are planned for MRES K-5 students only.
Volunteers Needed for Field Day
Field Day is next week and Coach Ty needs your help! He is looking for volunteers to help run the stations. The kids look forward to this event all year and we cannot do it without your help!
The 4th and 5th graders shift will be Wednesday, May 3rd from 9-11am, but we ask that you arrive at 8:30 so Coach can go over things with you.
The 2nd and 3rd graders shift will be Wednesday May 3rd from 1-3pm and we would be eternally grateful if you could stay a few minutes past to help clean up.
Kinder and 1st grade field day shift is Thursday May 4th from 9-11am and volunteers would need to arrive a little early for orientation and stay a little after for clean up, if possible.
We have 10 stations and are hoping for 2 volunteers for each station, totaling 20 volunteers per shift.
Also please note that in order to volunteer during school hours, you MUST pass a district approved background check. Please look for the volunteer link in the MRES Friday weekly newsletters. It is quick and easy to fill out and pretty fast to get approved.
Thank you Bulldog Families for your help and support!
Donuts with Moms!! Thursday May 4th 7:45AM
We ask that families park in the South parking Lot to allow our staff members to utilize the front (Staff) parking lot so they can be in classrooms on time.

2023 MRES Of the Year Employees
Congratulations to Mrs. Gretchen King - Paraprofessional - on her nomination for MRES Support Start of the Year 2023
Changing Weather & Recess
As you are aware, Colorado weather conditions can change dramatically throughout the day. Recess is held outside unless the temperature (with wind chill) drops below 17 degrees. Coats, gloves, hats, scarves, long pants, layers, closed toed shoes are all highly encouraged during the late fall/winter months.
Cell Phones, Electronic Devices, and Personal items
If it is necessary to bring a cell phone to school, the phone should be turned off and in the student’s backpack, and only used before and after school, unless used for medical monitoring. Smart watches are also considered a device and should be powered off and stored in backpacks during the day, just like phones/personal devices. Students should keep all tablets at home as computers and iPADS (if needed) are available during school hours. If you need to get a message to your student during the day, please call the school office 719-494-2909.
Students should not bring toys or other personal items to school. Items will be confiscated if they cause problems or distractions and disrupt the overall educational process. These items will be held by the teacher, or sent to the main office, until picked up by a parent.
MRES has a New Facebook Page!
Please go ahead and view - then "like" the page to see all of the latest news from the school
Health Information
If your student has a rescue medication (inhalers, epi-pens) they can be sent in along with their orders/action plans in a plastic bag labeled for the health room when you drop off your child's school supplies. Our Health Room staff will be available for medication drop off for students needing controlled, daily medication to be kept/given at school. A physician's note must accompany all medication students may/will need at school. That form is linked here.
More information can be found here - D49 Nursing Services.

We can accommodate one family per grade level lunch daily. If you plan on purchasing school lunch, please indicate when making a reservation. CMAS is Here!!
Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest and a nutritious breakfast each morning. We are excited for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to put all their hard work into action. They have been working hard and will ROCK CMAS testing. Our awesome families have been bringing in snacks all week to reward students after each test.
