Delaware
Delaware was founded in 1638 by Peter Minuit. Most of Delawares economy came from mixed farming. Delaware was governed by a proprietary government. The starting population size of Delaware was 185 settlers from Sweden. The original inhabits of Delaware were the Nanticoke, and Lenni Lenape natives. Anglican was the religion in Delaware.
New Jersey
The New Jersey Colony was founded in 1664 by Lord Berkeley and Sir George Carteret. New Jersey made their money from mixed farming like many of the other middle colonies. New Jersey was a proprietary government. New Jersey started with about 1000 Swedish settlers. One major tribe in the New Jersey Colony was the Lenni Lenape, which means original people. There was no established religion in New Jersey as it was meant to be a "Sewer" for the New York Colony.
Pennsylvania
The colony of Pennsylvania was founded by William Penn in 1681. Most of Pennsylvania's money came from the production of wheat and bread products. Pennsylvania was governed by a proprietary government. The starting population of Pennsylvania was around 600 settlers traveling from Sweden ad the Dutch. The native american groups Pennsylvania included the Erie Indians. There was no established religion in Pennsylvania.
New York
The New York Colony was founded in 1626 by the Duke of York and other colonists on Manhattan Island. Named after the Duke of York and Albany, the brother of King Charles II of England. Most of New York's income came from the fur trade. 350 dutch settlers migrated to New York. The names of the New York tribes included the Delaware, Erie, Iroquois, Mohawk, Oneida and Seneca. There was not established religion in New York. Henry Hudson Is credited fro discovering the Hudson river currently located in New York.
