2020-2021 School Year Update

Parent Information about the Upcoming School Year

Dear Simpsonville Elementary Families,

I hope that everyone is having a safe and relaxing summer! Last night, at the Shelby County Public Schools Board Meeting, the Board of Education voted to amend the 2020 - 2021 calendar. Opening day for students is now Wednesday, August 26th, 2020. Please mark your calendars.

Shelby County Public Schools has been working to re-open our schools this Fall. A task force reviewed all of the guidelines set forth by the local, state, and federal authorities and developed TWO educational choices for parents this fall.

The choices are SCPS @School and SCPS @Home. A link to a survey can be found below that describes in detail the safety guidelines and management of both choices. We ask that you fill out the form indicating your choice for your child so that we can plan for the number of students who will return to the physical school building and how many will learn from home. If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at school so that we can work with you on providing the safest learning opportunity for your child. The deadline for the survey is Thursday, July 16th, 2020.

We look forward to serving your family in a safe, welcoming, and supportive way during our upcoming school year!
